Serial Data Collection

The most traditional form of data collection. The PBX generates CDRs through its COM port (V24), which are received through serial communications cable (RS-232) by the computer running the telecom tariffing system.

Any CompArgo telecom tariffing system possesses such data collection module, that supports COM port data collection.

Two conditions must be met:

  • communication parameters in correspondence with the PBX’s requirements must be set up in the data collection module (e.g. speed, parity);
  • the cable connecting the PC to the PBX cannot be longer than 10 meters due to the serial data transfer’s physical characteristics (the safety of signal transfer cannot be guaranteed on greater length).
